Regarding Weather and Church Services

In general, St. Nicholas Church will always have scheduled services unless a Snow Emergency or extremely serious weather condition arises or an emergency has been declared by the authorities. On Sundays, a determination will be made by 7am and a group Email sent out only if services are canceled. We will update our phone messages at Church (434-973-2500, 540-456-6981) accordingly. If possible we will also get the notice on local TV and radio.

In the event of inclement weather, always use extreme caution and discretion. Note that your conditions may make staying at home the wise thing to do. In such cases, if it is a Sunday or major feast day, dedicate the same amount of time that you would at Liturgy in prayer or spiritual reading for your edification. While every effort will be made to keep the church driveway and walkways clear of ice and snow, do use extreme caution as slippery patches will always be present despite the best of efforts.

May St. Nicholas intercede for all who travel.
Fr. Robert Holet
