About Our Parish

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is a local parish of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA. Our parishioners live in Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg, and other towns in Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley.

The bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA are in communion with His All-Holiness, BARTHOLOMEW Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome, and Ecumenical Patriarch, and all of the North American Orthodox Churches who participate in the Standing Committee of Orthodox Bishops in America (SCOBA).

Services at St. Nicholas are celebrated in English, using melodies familiar to many different Orthodox traditions.

We are a family of Orthodox Christians celebrating together as believers in the One True Faith. If you are passing through the area, we hope you will spend part of your stay with us, and we invite you to worship with us whenever your travels bring you to this area.

If you are an Orthodox Christian, and you’d like to explore the possibility of membership, please feel free to ask any of our attendees, and they will point you in the right direction.

If you are not an Orthodox Christian, but would be interested in learning more about Orthodoxy as a faith choice, please contact Father Robert.

We welcome any and all questions you may have about us, our Faith and our worship practices, and we ask for your prayers in support of our growing community.
