Open House
The weekend of Dec. 7th – 9th proved to be a milestone for St. Nicholas Orthodox Church as we concluded the first phase of our interior renovations and held a public Open House in conjunction with our Parish celebration of the Feast of St. Nicholas. In the course of the weekend, over 100 guests and parish members were greeted with the customary gifts of Ukrainian hospitality (bread and salt), and invited to share in a day of fellowship with our parish and an experience of Orthodox Church life.

On Friday evening, following the initial prayers of blessing at the doors of the Church, Fr. Robert, the visiting Orthodox clergy and the faithful processed into the new sanctuary for the celebration of Great Vespers for the Feast of the Conception by Righteous Anna of the Holy Theotokos. Saturday events included a musical performance of “The Life of the Real St. Nicholas” by our parish youth, a talk on Orthodoxy by Fr. Robert, Great Vespers and a Fellowship meal. The weekend’s activities concluded with the celeberation of the first Eucharistic Liturgy in the sanctuary – a joyous occasion of communion of the faithful with our Lord and with one another.

We wish to acknowledge, with thanks, the efforts of our Building team (Karl Bowman chair) and all who participated in the building project, as well as those donors who have made offerings for the beautification of this sacred space.
